Programme Notes – When Rooks Fly Homeward
The programme’s title comes from the opening piece ‘When Rooks Fly Homeward’. This is a beautifully crafted setting of words by the Irish poet Joseph Campbell (1879-1944) – the second poem in a collection titled ‘The Mountainy Singer’ (Dublin, 1909).
